Message from the APQO President

It is with great sorrow that we have learnt of the passing away of Dr. Joseph M. Juran on February 28th, 2008 from natural causes. He was 103 years old.

On behalf of the APQO, I convey our most sincere condolences to the family of Dr. Juran and his wife Sadie.

Dr. Juran was an extra ordinary global citizen of quality, who worked tirelessly with great creativity to add value to the world of quality and business excellence.

He was born in Romania in 1904 and migrated to USA with his family in 1912.

Dr. Juran’s invaluable contribution to the world of quality and best practice will be remembered for ever. He had many notable accomplishments including adding managerial dimension to quality- broadening it from its statistical origin. He is very well known for Japan’s image of Made in Japan. He published The Juran Trilogy in 1986 which was acknowledged globally as the basis for quality.

We can learn from Dr. Juran’s teachings to add value to the world around us.

APQO will pay a very special tribute to Dr. Juran to celebrate the life of this great leader during the opening of our next international conference in Iran Tehran from August 23-25, 2008. www.qm-conference.com

May God shower His blessings on Dr. Juran.

Shan Ruprai
President APQO
